My philosophy . . .

I love working with people who are fun.  Genuine.  Real.  And that’s what my photography is really all about: capturing the real you.  I can see the connections between the members of your family and the beauty in each one of you -- and that’s what I want to capture with my camera.

I don’t do the typical matching-outfits portraits, or the canvas-backdrop-strobe-lighting-say-cheese portraits.  I don’t want you to worry about having perfect hair, perfect smiles, and the kids on their best behavior.  Relax.  Have fun.  Be yourself.  I want to show you your family the way I see it through my lens: happy, beautiful, flawless in spite of the flaws.

So when I show up for your session, you don’t have to do any pretending.  Just be real.  I like t-shirts and jeans and flip-flops.  And jammies.  And mussed up hair and lollipop-stained faces.  I love hugs and tickle fights and peals of laughter, and snuggles and kisses too.  These things are real.  This is the way I want to remember my family, and it’s the way I want to help you remember yours.

I love one-year-olds!

Seriously, is one year old as good as it gets for kids?  It must be!  These one-year-olds I’ve been shooting lately are amazing!  I met Jake last night, who just turned one on Tuesday, and I’m smitten!  I don’t know how I get so lucky to shoot all these beautiful kids, but they really make my job easy!

His parents aren’t too tough on the eyes either . . . ;)

We had a blast, running and playing and enjoying some gorgeous sunset light . . .

I love this one.  Between the yummy light and that tender look on dad’s face, it couldn’t get much better:

Ha!

I told you, I’m smitten:

You may or may not be able to tell from these photos, but Jake is going to be a big brother in December!

Alright, I really can’t bear deciding what else to show you, so I’m just going to show you the whole session!  Turn on your speakers and enjoy!

Numero uno

Linus is celebrating the all-important first birthday this month, so we got together Saturday morning for a photo session to commemorate the occasion!  I work with Linus’s mom, and she and her husband are my heroes: they have just moved into a new house, but managed to clear enough space for us to do the shoot at their new home!  How they managed, I’ll never know.  But I was really glad they did, because the light was gorgeous–and so was Linus!  I’m such a sucker for those big brown eyes . . . Take a look!

Too cute not to share

Quick shots of a couple of my favorite kiddos taken at a recent wedding reception; how gorgeous is she?!

I just can’t believe those blue eyes…

And her brother’s pretty darn handsome himself.

I’ve got to get my camera on them for a full session very, very soon!
