Bonjour les amis!

Just about twenty-four hours ago, Ben and I got back from the most amazing two-week vacation in France. We’d been dreaming and planning for ages, and the trip exceeded even our sky-high expectations. We spent the first week in Paris, sight-seeing, flea-market shopping, and eating, and then we spent the second week in a picture-perfect village called Beynac in the Dordogne region of southwestern France, sight-seeing, market shopping, and eating all over again! It was absolute heaven, and while I’m glad to be home again with our dogs and cats, I would be lying if I said I wasn’t missing France a little today…

But of course I have photos to console myself with! I took 3600+ digital photos while we were there and have fought through my jet lag to get them all transferred from memory cards to the computer. It will take me awhile to process them though, so in the meantime I thought I’d share scans of the instant photos I took with my new Fuji Instax 210 camera. It’s such a fun toy that I used up all the film I brought with me! You can also check out the photos I took with my iPhone throughout our travels over on flickr.

I have so much more to share about our trip, including the three beautiful places we stayed, so stay tuned. To whet your appetite, this first photo is the view from the bathtub in the loft of the amazing cottage where we stayed in Beynac…and yes, that’s a castle you see just a stone’s throw away!
