Emily McCall Photography bio picture

My philosophy . . .

I love working with people who are fun.  Genuine.  Real.  And that’s what my photography is really all about: capturing the real you.  I can see the connections between the members of your family and the beauty in each one of you -- and that’s what I want to capture with my camera.

I don’t do the typical matching-outfits portraits, or the canvas-backdrop-strobe-lighting-say-cheese portraits.  I don’t want you to worry about having perfect hair, perfect smiles, and the kids on their best behavior.  Relax.  Have fun.  Be yourself.  I want to show you your family the way I see it through my lens: happy, beautiful, flawless in spite of the flaws.

So when I show up for your session, you don’t have to do any pretending.  Just be real.  I like t-shirts and jeans and flip-flops.  And jammies.  And mussed up hair and lollipop-stained faces.  I love hugs and tickle fights and peals of laughter, and snuggles and kisses too.  These things are real.  This is the way I want to remember my family, and it’s the way I want to help you remember yours.

There’s nothing like a cute baby

. . . to help get you through the week.  That’s my theory, anyway.  Here, test it out on my new favorite photo ever:

Made you smile, right?  I thought so!  That picture is just hilarious, he looks so shocked by me!  This is Hayden, who you met when he was two days and eight days old.  Now he’s already two months old!!!  I can’t believe how time flies.  His momma and I were laughing about how, with all that hair, he looks more like a little person than a baby:

One more fun little sequence: here he is, being hypnotized by my lens — he is getting very sleepy . . .

Aaaaaand lights out.

Awesome.  He’s gonna love that shot someday!  ;)
