Emily McCall Photography bio picture

My philosophy . . .

I love working with people who are fun.  Genuine.  Real.  And that’s what my photography is really all about: capturing the real you.  I can see the connections between the members of your family and the beauty in each one of you -- and that’s what I want to capture with my camera.

I don’t do the typical matching-outfits portraits, or the canvas-backdrop-strobe-lighting-say-cheese portraits.  I don’t want you to worry about having perfect hair, perfect smiles, and the kids on their best behavior.  Relax.  Have fun.  Be yourself.  I want to show you your family the way I see it through my lens: happy, beautiful, flawless in spite of the flaws.

So when I show up for your session, you don’t have to do any pretending.  Just be real.  I like t-shirts and jeans and flip-flops.  And jammies.  And mussed up hair and lollipop-stained faces.  I love hugs and tickle fights and peals of laughter, and snuggles and kisses too.  These things are real.  This is the way I want to remember my family, and it’s the way I want to help you remember yours.

Camille + Justin

On Saturday I got to witness the marriage of my brother-in-law’s wife’s sister . . . but to make things a little less complicated, let’s just call her the sweetest girl in the whole world!  The wedding was at a gorgeous cathedral in downtown Fort Worth and the reception was at the old Texas & Pacific train station.  And even though I was not the official wedding photographer, everything was so incredibly beautiful that I just could not resist whipping out my camera.  Here are some of my favorites!

These two are such beautiful people, inside and out, they deserve all the happiness in the world.  I wish them all the best!

Amanda - Her dress is charming! I hate overly done and fruffy white wedding dresses. Simple and elegant is the way to be. Plus, that chapel looks literally heavenly. June 2, 2008 - 10:34 am

Angela - The lighting in the chapel is incredible. Such a beautiful day for a beautiful occasion! June 2, 2008 - 8:45 pm
